In this episode, aired 7/3/2020, we spoke with James Skoufis, NY State Senator for District 39.

We also fielded questions from many write-in members of Rockland County, during a new segment we call “Rapid Fire”. This starts at around the 42 minute mark. The moderator of this forum hereby promises to get better at running this segment, he feels it might be a useful type of segment, as well as provide time for more and more questions.

Notable highlights of James’ Career:

  • State Assemblyman from Jan 2013 to Dec 2018
  • Elected to State Senator District 39 on Nov 6, 2018

Initiatives:
+ Co-Sponsored the Child Victims Act
+ Chairperson, Investigations and Government Operations
+ Eliminated loopholes for vaccines
+ Battled against Corporate welfare
+ Made property tax cap permanent in District 39, including the following locations:
+ Town of Stony Point
+ Town of Haverstraw
+ Village of Haverstraw
+ Village of West Haverstraw
+ Town of Highlands

We are a volunteer body responsible for policy guidance and oversight of workforce development in Rockland County.  We direct federal, state, and local funding to programs for adults, dislocated workers and youth to help them acquire the skills employers want and help employers access the talent pool they need to compete and win in a global economy.
