What have our students been up to?
While working towards his high school equivalency diploma in our Test Assessing Secondary Completion (TASC) preparation course, Andrew (pictured above) has also become certifi ed in Customer Service and Sales. He is currently interning with Hilton Garden Inn where he trains at the front desk, in housekeeping and the café. Great job, Andrew!
- Six recent graduates have received employment with Crystal Run Healthcare, Health Check and the Friedwald Center for Rehabilitation & Nursing in the areas of Phlebotomy, Administrative Medical Office Skills, Medical Assisting and Nurse Assisting.
- Seven students have partnered with WestCop in Spring Valley and Haverstraw, the Nyack and New City libraries and Hilton Garden Inn for paid internships.
- Youth Connections will be highlighted as a model Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) program in the State at the 2019 New York Association of Training and Employment Professionals (NYATEP) Youth Academy Conference later this month. Youth Services Coordinator Stephanie Compasso will also be presenting at the event.
